Renovation of elevated tank at NATO air base, Büchel

Project Information

On behalf of the state-owned company LBB, Koblenz branch, the renovation of the elevated tank at the NATO air base in Büchel was carried out between June 2021 and October 2022. The circular structure is divided into two chambers, each with a volume of 220 m³. The services provided included the demolition of the foil lining over an area of 510 m² and the removal of PCB-contaminated screed and plaster over the same area. After the substrate was pre-treated and a cement-bound coating was applied to ceilings, walls, floors and supports covering a total of 680 m², the piping and ventilation system were also completely replaced. Special technical measures included the construction of a new floor slab and a back-anchoring shotcrete shell as part of the pollutant remediation.
