Drinking water tank Horeb Pirmasens

Project Information

On behalf of Stadtwerke Pirmasens, the Horeb drinking water reservoir, which has two water chambers each with a capacity of 5,000 m³, was renovated between August 2015 and December 2016. The scope of work included concrete repair over an area of 6,100 m², starting with substrate preparation using HDW blasting and PCB remediation. In addition, crack grouting was carried out, the old coating was removed and a completely new coating was applied using a mineral system, including the lining of the chambers with sprayed mortar. The disposal of 600 tonnes of hazardous waste posed a particular challenge, which was overcome while operations continued.
