Renovation of the Königsberger Straße elevated tank






Project Information
On behalf of Stadtwerke Soest GmbH, the renovation of water chamber II of elevated tank II Hewingsen at Lake Möhnesee was carried out between April and December 2015. With a usable capacity of 4,500 m³, the work covered a total area of 3,000 m² and included substrate preparation using granulate blasting, the demolition of 90 m³ of screed concrete and the removal of a PCB-containing coating. In addition, 11,000 kg of reinforcement was installed and a 145 m³ reinforced concrete floor slab with a smooth finish was produced. The project was completed with the concrete renovation and coating of the interior surfaces and specialised PCB contamination remediation in compliance with the applicable safety regulations.
