Renovation of the ‘Lange Meile’ elevated tank in Bad Homburg
Project Information
The renovation of the "Lange Meile" elevated tank in Bad Homburg was carried out on behalf of the Taunus Water Supply Association and comprised two cylindrical water chambers, each with a storage volume of 2,500 m³. Between July 2021 and March 2023, the existing tank was thoroughly refurbished to ensure the long-term functionality and durability of the drinking water system.

Removal of old coatings (with elevated BTEX content), demolition of plaster, screed and tile coverings
Repair of damaged areas and cracks in concrete components
Renovation of wall penetrations
Coating of wall, floor and ceiling surfaces with a purely mineral mortar approved for use in drinking water areas
Renovation of the access staircase
Sealing and creating openings
Dismantling of pipelines
