Theodor-Heuss-Brücke, Mainz-Wiesbaden

Project information

On behalf of the Civil Engineering and Surveying Office of the state capital of Wiesbaden, the Theodor Heuss Bridge between Mainz and Wiesbaden was renovated between July and August 2017. Within a construction period of only six weeks, 1,900 m² of cap coating and 2,900 m² of road surface were repaired. The scope of work included removing the old coating from the caps, shot blasting the steel surface, and recoating with a thin RHD coating. In the roadway area, two lanes were milled and the surface layer was restored with mastic asphalt, whereby the sealing connections in the curb area were also renewed. A special feature was the on-time completion within the summer vacation period.
